Job summary

IFG Companies is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to support the commercial pricing team for the Bind and Brokerage units. The role focuses on developing and enhancing actuarial analyses, processes and models to provide rating structures, pricing insights and portfolio rate monitoring.

The candidate should be technically capable, detail-oriented, self-motivated and effective in translating pricing concepts into actionable underwriting recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in insurance, risk management, economics, actuarial science or related fields.
• At least three years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance, preferably with a U.S. commercial insurer, in actuarial, underwriting, risk management, product management and/or claims.
• Four CAS actuarial exams recognized by the Casualty Actuarial Society.
• Preferred: CAS Exam 5 or ACAS.
• Preferred: Experience in General Liability and/or Excess & Surplus insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and enhancing tools, processes, systems and analyses for actuarial and underwriting teams.
• Support rate indication analyses to assess profitability and inform financial objectives.
• Maintain and update complex rating plans.
• Collaborate with Underwriting and IT to implement rating logic and pricing structures.
• Monitor renewal rate changes and prepare reports aligned with rate targets.
• Work with Data/Analytics to deliver insights to underwriters and leadership.
• Support reinsurance renewals by reviewing submission data and pricing.
• Assist with the annual corporate financial planning process.
• Use Excel, SQL and Python to analyze data and improve data quality and efficiency.
• Create and maintain documentation adhering to CAS Code of Professional Conduct.
