Job summary

UFG Insurance is seeking an action-oriented actuarial leader to enhance pricing capabilities, develop and lead a team, and partner with Underwriting, Product, and Enablement to streamline and scale rate filings.

The role requires building strong relationships with regulators and external partners, establishing governance, and driving profitable growth through collaboration with pricing actuaries and analytics.

Qualifications

• FCAS designation preferred; ACAS required.
• BS in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, or related field.
• 8+ years actuarial experience with rate filings.
• 5+ years pricing experience in commercial P&C.
• 3+ years managing actuarial staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead the state rate filings process across all commercial lines while enhancing capabilities.
• Manage tools, processes, and data used in actuarial indications and pricing studies.
• Partner with Underwriting, Product, Compliance, and Business Enablement to improve efficiency, quality, and delivery time of state filings.
• Represent UFG as an actuarial expert with regulators, auditors, and external partners.
• Establish governance practices and ensure consistent actuarial standards.
• Collaborate with pricing actuaries to implement underwriting strategies for profitable growth.
• Manage a team of analysts, fostering development and accountability.
• Communicate results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
