Job summary

UnitedHealthcare, a leading health insurer, seeks a Sr. Actuarial Analyst to apply advanced analytics to Medicaid risk adjustment, uncover insights on risk score performance and morbidity trends, and translate data into recommendations for leaders.

This role is part of the Actuarial Leadership Development Program. You can work remotely from anywhere in the U.S., with a requirement in Minneapolis or Washington, D.C.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or related field.
• Must be on the Actuarial exam track, having passed 2 or more Actuarial exams.
• 2+ years of healthcare analytics, actuarial, healthcare economics, or related experience.
• Intermediate SQL and Excel skills.
• Experience working with large healthcare datasets (claims, encounters, eligibility, membership, etc.).
• Proven solid analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Medicaid risk adjustment analytics, reporting, and dashboards.
• Analyze risk score performance, morbidity trends, and revenue impacts across markets.
• Partner with actuarial, finance, operations, and technology teams to support business decisions.
• Identify data issues, perform root-cause analyses, and recommend solutions.
• Present insights and recommendations to leadership and business partners.
• Lead analytical projects and support process improvement initiatives.
