Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum Insight is seeking a skilled actuary to join their Government Programs Actuarial practice. You will lead analyses, develop rates and forecasts for Medicare Advantage, Part D, and Risk Adjustment programs, and deliver strategic insights to clients.

This remote-friendly role enables work from anywhere in the U.S., with in-office four days per week for Minneapolis and Washington, DC-area hires. The salary reflects market rates and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 4+ completed actuarial examinations and active participation on the actuarial exam track.
• 3+ years of actuarial experience.
• Demonstrated experience building and interpreting actuarial models and financial analyses.
• ASA or FSA designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead actuarial analyses supporting Medicare Advantage, Part D, and Risk Adjustment programs.
• Develop rates, forecasts, pricing models and financial analyses for client engagements.
• Design and execute complex data programs, actuarial models and risk score analyses.
• Partner with clients to deliver consulting recommendations and business insights.
• Provide guidance, mentoring and work direction to actuarial analysts on project teams.
• Support cross-functional engagements involving ACA, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and related healthcare programs.
