Smith Hanley is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our client’s valuation team in a hybrid role serving the New York Metro area. The position focuses on STAT/GAAP reserving, financial reporting, and capital management.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of actuarial experience within an insurance carrier or consulting firm, working toward or holding an ASA designation, and a strong command of actuarial software and analytics.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of actuarial experience in life insurance or reinsurance.
• Experience with STAT/GAAP reserving and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in actuarial software and data analysis.
• Working toward or holding ASA designation.

Responsibilities

• Calculate STAT/GAAP reserves and support regulatory reporting.
• Assist asset adequacy testing and valuation model maintenance.
• Support financial projections and management variance analysis.
• Assist in valuation platform conversions and system validations.
