Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a therapeutic recreation or related discipline with 2 years of related experience, or 1 year at lower level Activity Therapist 2.

Responsibilities

• Conduct therapy sessions to improve clients’ mental and physical well-being.
• Confer with treatment team to plan and evaluate therapy programs.
• Develop treatment plans based on assessments, interests, and objectives of therapy.
• Encourage clients with special needs to participate in health-promoting activities.
• Instruct clients in activities such as sports, arts, music, and relaxation techniques.
• Observe and record client progress and modify programs as needed.
• Prepare reports reflecting client reactions and progress.
