Job summary

CJE SeniorLife is seeking an Activity Worker for an on-site, temp-to-hire role in Deerfield, IL. The position focuses on planning, implementing, and evaluating therapeutic activities for residents, including group and one-on-one sessions.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human services is preferred. Two years of elderly care experience is also preferred. Competitive hourly pay with a small shift differential.

Qualifications

• At least a high school diploma or GED is required.
• Associate or bachelor degree in human services preferred.
• Two years of experience working with the elderly in an institutional setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates therapeutic activities based on resident needs, including large and small groups and one-on-one sessions.
• Assists in planning and organizing special events (e.g., birthdays, religious and holiday activities) under the Life Enrichment Manager.
• Maintains professional milieu in all programs.
• Encourages resident participation and escorts residents to programs and activities as needed.
• Assists in the coordination and supervision of Volunteers.
• Assists in outings and accompanies residents as needed.
