Job summary

The Center for Elders' Independence in San Leandro, CA, seeks an Activity Aide to assist the Activity Coordinator in delivering meaningful recreational services to CEI participants in the day center. You will help maintain supplies, assist with documentation, and support staff to meet participants' needs in a respectful, engaging environment.

Responsibilities include leading activities, coordinating with the team, and training volunteers while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work in a diverse and interdisciplinary setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skill and ability to communicate effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Possess flexibility, initiative and willingness to learn.
• Current CPR certification and First Aid training.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Holds or willing to obtain Activity Leadership Certificate approved by the California Department of Public Health - Preferred.
• Ability to communicate in Spanish, Cantonese or Mandarin - Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads individual and group recreational activities to support participants' physical fitness and psychosocial functioning.
• Works with the Activity and Volunteer Functional Manager to develop meaningful activity programs.
• Assists with daily operation of the activity program and handles documentation.
• Maintains a safe, neat environment and supports volunteers and instructors.
