Job summary

Center for Elders' Independence is seeking an Activity Aide to support engaging recreational programs for CEI participants. The role involves leading activities, coordinating with the Activity Coordinator, and helping with documentation and staff support in the day center.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma (or equivalent), CPR/First Aid, and the ability to work in a diverse team. Language skills and a CDPH leadership certificate are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Ability to work in a diverse, interdisciplinary setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Current CPR certification and First Aid training required.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Willingness to obtain Activity Leadership Certificate approved by CDPH – preferred.
• Spanish, Cantonese or Mandarin language ability – preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead individual and group recreational activities (art, music, crafts, discussions, outings, events).
• Support the Activity Coordinator in program development and daily operations.
• Assist with documentation and provide coverage for the Activity Coordinator in meetings.
• Conduct participant assessments as needed (CDPH activity leadership certificate may be required).
• Maintain supplies and equipment, ensuring a neat, safe environment.
• Train and support volunteers, guest speakers, and instructors.
