Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lead in the Activity Department in the absence of the Activity Director.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Flexible with working hours to accommodate evenings and weekends.
• Knowledge of resident activities and program planning.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements for activity programs in a long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize, and implement a program of activities to meet residents' social, emotional, physical and other therapeutic needs within the budget.
• Initiate and promote activities inside and outside the facility, ensuring safety and well-being of residents at all times.
• Coordinate and verify that assistance is provided to residents for activities and events as necessary.
• Provide in-room activities for residents who are unable to attend daily events.
• Create an ongoing calendar of activities that appeals to all ages and abilities.
• Maintain scheduling and documentation standards as per policies and regulations.
• Solicit community involvement when planning facility activities and events.
