Job summary

Healthwin Health and Rehabilitation in South Bend, IN, is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Activities Director in planning and providing engaging activities that enhance residents' quality of life. The role includes coordinating daily programs, leading group activities, and assisting with transportation and outings using the facility bus when needed.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience with seniors, a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication and teamwork

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with seniors or in activities, recreation, healthcare, long-term care, or related field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record required.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or required according to facility policy.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead a variety of daily activities and programs for residents.
• Encourage resident participation while respecting individual preferences, abilities, and interests.
• Lead group activities including games, arts and crafts, music, exercise, entertainment, social events, and special programs.
• Provide one-on-one activities and meaningful engagement for residents who may not participate in group programs.
• Accompany residents on community outings, appointments, shopping trips, and other scheduled activities as assigned.
• Safely operate the facility bus/van to transport residents when needed.
