Job summary

Diversicare Healthcare Services, LLC is seeking a dedicated recreation coordinator to plan and direct activities for residents in a long-term care setting. You will tailor programs to individual needs and collaborate with care teams to enhance quality of life.

Role requires creativity, strong communication, and the ability to motivate residents through engaging, person-centered activities. Previous long-term care experience is preferred and SSD/AD certification is desirable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Long-term care/senior living experience preferred.
• SSD/AD certification is required/desired.
• An interest in people and ability to instruct residents and communicate clearly.
• Ability to design and run a variety of activities and respond to residents' needs.
• Imagination and creativity are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate activity program.
• Plan and implement an activity calendar monthly.
• Provide one to one programming for residents who cannot participate in a group setting.
• Participate in review of individual Residents' Care Plans and document activity progress quarterly or when a significant change occurs.
• Coordinate quarterly special events at the residence, including residents, families and friends.
• Be familiar with the Adult Care Home Residents' Bill of Rights and assist residents with exercising these rights.
