Job summary

Diversicare is seeking a dedicated Recreation/Activities Coordinator to design and oversee engaging programs for residents across its skilled nursing and long-term care centers. You will create monthly calendars, provide individual activities for residents, and support care plans while upholding residents’ rights and dignity.

Experience in activity coordination is preferred; a High School diploma or equivalent and SSD/AD certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Long term experience in activity coordination preferred.
• SSD/AD certification is required.
• Ability to instruct residents and communicate effectively.
• Ability to plan and implement activities for varied resident needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate activity program.
• Plan and implement an activity calendar monthly.
• Provide one to one programming for residents who cannot participate in a group setting.
• Review residents' Care Plans and document activity progress quarterly.
• Coordinate quarterly special events with residents, families and friends.
• Familiarity with Residents' Bill of Rights and assist residents in exercising these rights.
