Job summary

Diversicare is hiring to coordinate and enhance recreational activities for residents across our post-acute care facilities. You will design engaging programs, plan monthly calendars, and tailor activities to individual resident needs while collaborating with families and staff.

Ideal candidates have a passion for elderly care, strong communication skills, and creativity to keep residents engaged. This role emphasizes respectful interaction and adherence to residents' rights and care plans.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Long term care or activity programming experience preferred.
• SSD/AD certification is a plus.
• An interest in people; ability to instruct residents and to communicate effectively.
• Ability to direct and perform a variety of activities and respond to varied resident needs.
• Imagination and creativity are valued.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate the activity program.
• Plan and implement a monthly activity calendar.
• Provide one-to-one programming for residents unable to participate in group activities.
• Review residents' Care Plans and document activity progress quarterly or on significant changes.
• Coordinate quarterly special events with residents, families and staff.
• Support residents' rights under applicable care home regulations.
