Job summary

Woburn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an enthusiastic Activities Assistant to join our team. You will help create an engaging, welcoming environment for residents and assist with planning recreational programs, group activities, and special events designed to meet the individual needs and interests of our residents.

You will support residents to participate, transport them as needed, and maintain a safe, inclusive space.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience and demonstrated interest in working with seniors preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, and enthusiastic approach to working with residents.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Must be able to work the required hours and rotation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and carrying out recreational programs, group activities, special events, and holiday celebrations that meet residents' needs and interests.
• Support, encourage, and motivate residents to participate in activities.
• Transport residents to and from activities as needed.
• Facilitate activities while maintaining awareness of all participating residents.
• Clean up after each activity and prepare the space and supplies for upcoming activities.
• Assemble, dismantle, organize, and store equipment and supplies used in recreational programs.
• Communicate with residents' families and encourage their involvement in activities.
• Promote a positive, welcoming, and inclusive environment for residents.
• Support resident dignity, safety, and comfort during all activities.
