Job summary
Starkey in Eden Prairie, MN is seeking an experienced acoustics engineer to lead transducer design and simulation efforts across microphones, receivers, and subassemblies in hearing devices. You will collaborate with Electroacoustic, Electrical, and Acoustic teams to meet product requirements, develop component specifications, and drive simulation processes.
The role emphasizes hands-on testing in lab environments, applying DSP concepts, and guiding junior engineers while advancing modeling
Qualifications
- BS/MS/PhD in acoustics or related engineering field required.
- 7+ years in design, simulation, and model creation for products.
- Experience with anechoic chamber testing and ANSI/IEC standards.
- Strong leadership of junior engineers and technicians.
- Excellent measurement, analysis, and documentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct transducer evaluation, simulations, and selection.
- Plan component selection, testing, and documentation.
- Create models and simulations at multiple levels.
- Validate results via lab measurements and characterization.
- Develop tests and automate test software/scripts.
- Lead design guideline creation and project mentorship.
