LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Accountant to join a growing finance team in Melville, NY. This hybrid role focuses on operating expense accounting, AP activities, and treasury payment execution for Direct Bill suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in invoice processing, AP reconciliations, ACH and wire payments, and month-end close, while upholding internal controls in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounts payable, accounting, treasury operations, or supplier payment environments.
• Strong understanding of invoice processing, accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.

Responsabilités

• Review, code, and process invoices for corporate operating expenses with proper approvals and GL coding.
• Manage vendor onboarding, maintain vendor records, and ensure compliance with controls.
• Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and resolve payment issues.
• Monitor AP aging reports, identify outstanding obligations, escalate as needed.
• Prepare and process domestic and international wire transfers, ACH payments, and treasury disbursements.
• Validate payment details and supporting documentation prior to release.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations related to AP and cash disbursements.
• Reconcile AP subledger to GL and resolve reconciling items.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities including accruals and variance analysis.
• Assist with audits and internal control testing.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and process documentation; identify automation opportunities.
• Provide guidance to Accounts Payable team.
