Qualifications

• Senior AP role experience such as AP Lead or AP Supervisor is preferred.
• Strong understanding of AP processes, vendor management, and payment reconciliation.
• ERP systems experience; SAP is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process and release vendor payments accurately and on schedule.
• Investigate and resolve vendor payment discrepancies and invoice issues.
• Review and process invoice corrections, adjustments, and payment updates.
• Monitor and resolve workflow exceptions and escalated AP issues.
• Handle inquiries from shared department mailboxes with timely follow-up.
• Coordinate payment cancellations, stop payments, and replacement payments as needed.
• Research and resolve invoices on hold by coordinating with internal teams and vendors.
• Serve as a resource for AP processes and best practices within the department.
• Generate reports and analyze payment history and purchasing data to support issue resolution.
• Collaborate with accounting, procurement, and operations to improve AP processes.
• Support departmental initiatives and mentor junior team members.

I'm currently working on a Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist opportunity with a large and well-established company in the Kansas City area. This is a contract-to-hire position, and the previous person in the role was successfully converted to a permanent employee. The team is looking for someone with 5+ years of strong Accounts Payable experience , ideally coming from a larger corporate environment in a Senior AP Specialist, AP Lead, or AP Supervisor capacity. A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• - Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• - Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• - High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• - Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
