SUMMARY

The Senior Accounts Payable & Reconciliation Specialist oversees comprehensive vendor statement reconciliations, financial analysis, and disbursement controls across vendor accounts to maintain general ledger integrity, audit-ready compliance, and optimal working capital management. This role requires advanced analytical skills, cross-functional coordination, and the ability to investigate and resolve complex transactional discrepancies across business units.

DUTIES

• Perform reconciliations of vendor Statements of Account against internal sub-ledgers. Identify, document, and resolve variances, including unapplied payments, missing invoices, credit memo applications, and timing differences, to maintain accurate, fully reconciled vendor ledgers in compliance with corporate accounting standards.
• Collaborate closely with vendors and internal operations teams to investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, payment mismatches, and timing issues.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of aged items, open balances, and disputed transactions, providing actionable recommendations to management.
• Monitor vendor settlement terms, invoice validation schedules, and cash disbursement calendars to support liquidity planning. Project upcoming payment requirements, align disbursement timing with working capital objectives, and minimize liquidity friction.
• Build and maintain financial models for ad-hoc analysis, forecasting, and scenario planning. Translate financial data into actionable insights that support management’s decision-making and strategic initiatives.
• Assist with annual audits (financial, tax, and agreed-upon procedures) by preparing supporting schedules, documentation, and responses to auditor inquiries.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• A strong background in Financial Analysis is highly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounts Payable, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, and data visualization tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
