Job summary

U.S. Bank seeks an experienced senior accountant to interpret GAAP and partner with finance teams across corporate areas. You will analyze complex transactions, prepare accounting position summaries, and assist in adopting new standards to support executives and business lines while maintaining compliance.

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule with in-office time expected 3+ days per week, along with comprehensive benefits and a clear path for career growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience.
• 8 or more years of relevant financial accounting experience.
• CPA preferred (active or inactive).
• Advanced knowledge of financial concepts and methodologies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess the impact of new accounting standards on the Company and lead implementation across affected units.
• Provide day-to-day guidance on accounting for new, unusual, significant and/or complex transactions or products.
• Direct involvement in critical decision-making activities impacting financial results.
• Prepare summaries of industry accounting issues and literature to ensure compliance and interpretation.
• Draft comments to the FASB on proposed accounting standards and coordinate with staff as needed.
