U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced accounting professional to provide technical accounting interpretation and guidance to finance teams and senior management across corporate areas.

The role partners with various groups to implement accounting policies, assess impacts of new standards and support adoption efforts. Primary responsibilities include leading implementation of new standards across business units, advising on complex transactions, preparing summaries for accounting positions, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent
• 8+ years of relevant financial accounting experience
• CPA preferred (active or inactive)
• Strong knowledge of accounting theory, regulatory requirements and reporting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Effective project planning and management skills

Responsibilities

• Assess the impact of new accounting standards on the company and lead implementation across affected units.
• Provide day-to-day guidance on accounting for new, unusual, significant, and complex transactions and products.
• Direct involvement in critical decision-making that drives financial results.
• Prepare summaries of accounting issues and literature to ensure compliance.
• Draft comments to standard-setters on proposed accounting standards.
• Coordinate with staff from other areas on projects as needed and manage staff relationships.
