Job summary

U.S. Bank in Minneapolis seeks an experienced accounting professional to provide technical accounting interpretation of GAAP to finance personnel and senior management.

The role partners with Corporate Credit, External Reporting, Tax, and Planning to ensure policies and practices reflect current standards. The ideal candidate has a CPA, deep knowledge of financial concepts, and at least 8 years of relevant experience, with a track record of clear communication and effective project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of relevant financial accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess the impact of new accounting standards on the Company and lead implementation.
• Provide day-to-day guidance on accounting for new, unusual, significant and/or complex transactions or products.
• Directly involved in critical decision-making activities that drive or enhance business performance and financial results.
• Keep current and prepare summaries of industry accounting issues and literature for compliance and interpretation.
• Prepare written summaries supporting accounting positions on significant or complex transactions; draft comment letters to the FASB.
