Palmer Group has partnered with our client in their search for a Senior Accounting Associate to join their team on-site in West Des Moines, IA. The role oversees day-to-day accounting transactions across AP, AR, billing, cash application, and reconciliations, supporting month-end close and strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience, proficiency with ERP systems and Excel, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience in AP, AR, or transactional accounting.
• Strong knowledge of AP, AR, billing, cash application, and reconciliations.
• Experience with accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle accounts payable including invoice review and vendor payments.
• Prepare and issue daily customer invoices; resolve billing discrepancies.
• Process cash receipts, ACH payments, and wire transfers; apply payments.
• Monitor cash activity and perform key account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities and audit support.
• Maintain accurate financial records and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
• Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and other departments to resolve issues.
