Montrose County Sheriff's Office is seeking a detail-oriented bookkeeper responsible for accounting duties within the county's financial system, including A/P, A/R and general ledger. You will maintain accounts, post transactions, balance ledgers and prepare reconciliations.

The role requires at least three years of bookkeeping experience, solid knowledge of GAAP/GAAS preferred, and strong written and verbal English communication.

Qualifikationen

• Education: High School graduate or equivalent with additional coursework in office and business practices. College-level courses in accounting and technical training desirable.
• Experience: A minimum of three (3) years experience in field of bookkeeping/accounting in a private or public organization of moderate complexity.
• Required Knowledge: GAAP and GAAS preferred.
• Language Skills: Proficient in English, strong written and verbal communication.

Aufgaben

• Performs bookkeeping and accounting duties within the county's financial system, including accounts payable/receivable and general ledger.
• Maintains and monitors accounts, posts, balances and reconciliations.
• Processes invoices and payments; reconciles and remits payments and reports.
• Prepares monthly journal entries and assists with monthly financial statements.
• Responds to inquiries from customers and resolves discrepancies.
• Backs up Payroll, A/P, and A/R as needed; supports departmental policies.
