Job summary

ENGIE Energy Management NA, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Senior Advisor to lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and ensure accurate financial reporting for the business unit and its subsidiaries.

The role requires 10+ years in accounting, strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, and experience in energy trading or commodity accounting. The position is based in Houston with a hybrid work policy and collaboration across global finance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline.
• 10+ years progressive accounting experience; lead complex activities.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience interpreting income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Experience supporting revenue accounting, commodity accounting in energy trading environment.
• Experience with internal controls, audit activities, reconciliations, testing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes per schedule and GBS standards.
• Manage revenue accounting, revenue reconciliations, journal entries, gross margin reporting.
• Ensure accuracy of energy gross margin and balance sheet accounts incl. accruals and revenue recognition.
• Review financial statements with FP&A, explain variances and risks.
• Collaborate with Market Risk, Operations, Front Office, FP&A, and GBS to resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and ENGIE accounting policies; control readiness.
• Design and maintain internal controls over financial reporting; audit liaison.
• Lead audits and respond to regulatory requests with timely information.
• Identify root causes in data processes; drive practical solutions and improvements.
• Lead finance transformation, process standardization, and automation initiatives.
