Job summary

The Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) in Las Vegas is seeking a Senior Accounting Assistant in the Rehabilitation Division's Operations Unit. You will handle a variety of financial transactions, including invoices, vouchers, deposits, and cash receipts, while supporting efficient financial operations.

You will perform data entry, reconciliations, and assist in preparing budget and accounting documents, reporting to the Supervisor, Accounting Assistant.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of applicable accounting experience.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent education.
• Experience with accounts payable/receivable and financial recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, verify, and process accounts payable and receivable documents.
• Record payments and reconcile receivables.
• Review timesheets for accuracy and completeness.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare reports and maintain accounting records.
• Assist in processing budget and accounting documents.
• Serve as liaison with pay center staff and respond to inquiries.
