Job summary

Valley Sanitary District seeks an experienced accounting/payroll professional to manage payroll processing, invoicing, and general financial reporting. The role handles complex payroll transactions, tax reporting, and data reconciliation within a public utility context.

The incumbent will prepare and review payroll adjustments, assist in audits, and respond to vendor and staff inquiries while ensuring compliance with district policies and applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• Four years of financial or statistical record keeping experience; at least two in government or public utility.
• Experience with payroll processing, deductions, and tax reporting.
• Ability to generate complex financial reports and reconcile accounts.

Responsibilities

• Verifies, audits, edits, and processes biweekly and other special employee payrolls in accordance with District policies and labor contracts.
• Processes and data enters special payroll transactions and ensures proper tax treatment.
• Answers questions regarding payroll and benefits deductions and explains policies.
