Job summary

Resolution Life Group Services Limited is seeking an AVP, Accounting Operations to lead daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain strong internal controls.

This role oversees payroll and expense accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries while partnering with Finance, Operations, Actuarial, IT, and external stakeholders to drive operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with general ledger systems, account reconciliations, and close processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close activities.
• Prepare, review, and approve journal entries in a timely manner.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Monitor financial results and perform variance analysis to identify trends and risks.
• Support internal and external reporting including audit requests.
• Ensure compliance with policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate audit activities and provide required documentation.
• Identify control enhancements and streamline accounting processes.
• Develop and coach accounting staff to support close deadlines.
• Allocate resources to meet close and reporting timelines.
• Lead automation and standardization initiatives to improve efficiency.
• Communicate financial issues, risks, and recommendations to leadership.
• Support strategic projects, acquisitions, integrations, and business initiatives.
