Job summary

CLA is seeking a Senior – Accounting Methods in California to join the Federal Tax Strategies team. The role focuses on tax strategies involving timing and character of income, expense, capitalization, and cost recovery, including Form 3115 filings and related procedures.

In this position you should communicate effectively at all levels, demonstrate problem solving, integrity, and a strong sense of urgency and results orientation. Collaboration across the firm is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 2 years of relevant experience required.
• Eligible to sit for CPA exam preferred.
• Experience in business services, public accounting or consulting preferred.
• Experience in accounting methods preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Access preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult on accounting methods changes including overall methods, revenue/expense recognition, inventory, capitalization.
• Conduct research on accounting methods tax issues to expand knowledge base.
• Participate and collaborate in accounting methods projects, including client interviews, reviewing client data, preparing calculations, analysis, and preparing supporting tax form filings.
• Collaborate with managers, directors and principals, including industry leaders and other marketing and business personnel throughout the Firm.
• Coach or mentor staff to assist with enhancing their skills and further developing their career.
• Demonstrate ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously in an effective and reliable manner.
