Job summary

CLA, a national professional services firm, is hiring a Senior - Accounting Methods to join the Federal Tax Strategies team in Portland. The role focuses on selecting optimal tax treatments and implementing accounting methods changes to meet objectives, with emphasis on integrity, judgment, and urgency.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 2 years of relevant experience, CPA exam eligibility preferred, and experience in accounting methods or consulting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 2 years of relevant experience required.
• CPA exam is preferred.
• Experience in business services, public accounting or consulting preferred.
• Experience in accounting methods preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Access preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult on accounting methods-related issues including changes in methods, revenue and expense recognition, inventory, capitalization, cost recovery and periods.
• Conduct research related to accounting methods tax issues to expand knowledge base.
• Participate and collaborate in accounting methods projects, including client interviews, data review, calculations, analysis and filings.
• Collaborate with managers, directors and principals across the Firm.
• Coach or mentor staff to enhance skills and career development.
• Contribute to multiple projects simultaneously in a reliable manner.
