Job summary

PracticeCFO is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to oversee client accounting operations, mentor staff, and ensure accurate financial reporting. The role offers full remote work across the U.S. or a hybrid option for those near our San Diego headquarters.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of accounting progression, strong tax-basis knowledge, and advanced Excel skills, with QuickBooks Online (ProAdvisor) experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting or controller-team experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of tax-basis accounting and Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day accounting operations for multiple clients.
• Review and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities.
• Oversee payroll entries and ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
• Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Review and mentor accounting staff to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Lead special projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Conduct team training and respond to client requests.
• Maintain records for the preparation of 1099 filings.
