Job summary

Mozilla.org is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations, close cycles, and financial reporting across Mozilla.org and related subsidiaries. This hands-on role requires expertise across nonprofit and for-profit entities and the ability to align systems and controls with growth.

Reporting to Head of Finance, you will manage inter‑company transactions, treasury and tax coordination, audits, and strengthen internal controls while supporting budgeting and governance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience in non‑profit and for‑profit environments.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and complex accounting processes.
• Experience supporting multiple legal entities or complex structures.
• Experience with treasury, tax compliance, audits, and internal controls.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficient systems and spreadsheet skills; seeks to automate processes.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with leadership and partners.
• CPA or equivalent qualification (preferred).
• Experience with nonprofit accounting including grants and Form 990 (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Own daily accounting in the general ledger for the three managed entities.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting across entities.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts.
• Coordinate payroll information with HR for accurate financial data.
• Prepare financial statements, management reporting, and schedules.
• Oversee inter‑company transactions and eliminations.
• Ensure appropriate accounting treatment across nonprofit and for‑profit entities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and governance reporting.
