Job summary

VOA-Texas is seeking a dedicated accounting professional to manage nonprofit financial operations in Euless, TX. You will prepare and analyze monthly and annual statements for programs, support month-end closes, and ensure GAAP compliance across ledgers and grants.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 3–5 years in general ledger, AP, payroll, and reconciliations; nonprofit accounting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related field) with 3–5 years in general ledger, AP, payroll and reconciliations.
• Not-for-profit accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP; grant accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs professional accounting work involving compilation, consolidation, analysis of financial data, and preparation of monthly/yearly financial statements for Programs.
• Assists accounting team with monthly and annual close processes, including journal entries, AP review, and reconciliation.
• Ensures general ledger accounts are complete and accurately presented in financial statements.
• Prepares source documentation supporting reconciliations, journal entries, and analyses.
• Assists in budgeting and grant accounting processes, including reporting for State & Federal Grants and contracts.
• Provides analysis and research to address questions from program managers and external auditors.

Day-to-Day

• Performs professional accounting work involving compilation, consolidation, analysis of financial data, and preparation of monthly /yearly financial statements for Programs.
• Assists Accounting and Business Operations team with monthly and annual close processes, including preparation of General Ledger Journal Entries, review AP, and review and record
• Ensures that assigned general ledger accounts are complete, materially accurate and properly presented in the financial statements; Ensure that all transactions underlying the accounting records are valid and represent the legitimate assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses of VOA
• Prepares and maintains appropriate source documentation supporting account reconciliations, journal entries and analyses for assigned general ledger
• Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements for assigned programs and related entities including variance
• Assists Program Managers with preparation of budgets and
• Assists in grant accounting process, reporting, and financial compliance including preparing budgets for Application of State & Federal Grants, Contracts, Foundation, and other nonprofit
• Serves as a partner to program managers with financial statement questions, including conducting necessary research into A/P, A/R, and payroll issues raised by managers; addresses and resolves these issues and
• Provides account analysis and supporting documentation to external auditors and regulators, as requested, under the direction of departmental

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or business field) plus three to five years of general ledger, accounts payable, payroll and reconciliations. Not-for-profit accounting experience preferred; knowledge of GAAP is preferred. Grant Accounting experience preferred.
