Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) is seeking an Accounting Manager, General Ledger to lead month-end close, maintain the integrity of the general ledger, and oversee AP/AR operations in a nonprofit setting. You will collaborate with the Controller and cross-functional teams to ensure compliant financial reporting and strong internal controls across multiple funding sources.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, at least 5 years’ progressive accounting experience, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience managing professional accounting staff.
• Experience with nonprofit organizations and federal/state grant funding.
• CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and annual close processes to ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, revenue recognition, and asset accounting.
• Oversee AP/AR cycles, vendor onboarding, expenses, and controls.
• Coordinate with external auditors during audits and Single Audit.
• Develop and monitor internal controls and accounting policies.
