Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) in the San Francisco Bay Area seeks an Accounting Manager, General Ledger to oversee the general ledger, AP/AR, and compliance for a $100M+ nonprofit. You will lead monthly and annual close, review journal entries and reconciliations, strengthen internal controls, and partner with program leadership to ensure accurate reporting for government contracts, grants, and other funding sources.

This role requires a CPA or CPA candidate, deep U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience managing accounting staff.
• Experience in nonprofit with federal/state grant funding.
• Experience supporting a Single Audit strongly preferred.
• CPA or CPA candidate highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and annual close processes for timely financial reporting.
• Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations across ledgers.
• Ensure revenue recognition for government contracts and grants.
• Oversee fixed asset accounting, capitalization, and depreciation.
• Manage net asset classifications and restriction releases.
• Supervise AP/AR staff and procure-to-pay and order-to-cash cycles.
• Monitor vendor onboarding and W-9 compliance.
• Oversee expense reimbursements and corporate card activity.
• Improve internal controls and documentation retention.
• Support external audits and prepare PBC schedules.
