Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Experience in utility/construction or project-based industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee day-to-day accounting activities for the organization.
• Manage and support the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and other general ledger activity.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, and general ledger functions.
• Review financial statements and investigate variances or unusual activity.
• Support job/project accounting, including job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, and project profitability.
• Partner with operations and project leaders to understand financial performance and resolve accounting issues.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and other financial reporting as needed.
• Develop and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and scalability within the accounting function.
• Assist with audits, tax filings, lender reporting, and other external reporting requirements.
• Provide guidance and oversight to accounting staff while remaining hands-on in the accounting function.
