Job summary

Specter is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to build the accounting function from the ground up in a fast-growing hardware company. You will own close processes, financial reporting, controls, and ERP implementation, with the goal of scalable financial infrastructure as we scale.

You will personally execute early on and later hire a team, working cross‑functionally with operations, engineering, and supply chain to reflect the business accurately and prepare for audits and growth.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with hands-on execution heavy roles.
• CPA strongly preferred; Big Four background a plus, especially with manufacturing or hardware clients.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close end to end: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements.
• Build inventory, cost, and manufacturing accounting processes for a scaling hardware business.
• Develop reporting systems and interfaces with other company systems.
• Establish internal controls and accounting policies for a venture-backed company preparing for audits.
• Coordinate tax compliance with external advisors across multiple jurisdictions.
• Lead annual audit preparation and work with external auditors.
• Hire and manage a growing team of accountants as the company scales.
