Job summary

XDOF in San Francisco seeks a Senior Accounting Manager / Director of Accounting to own day-to-day accounting operations and ensure audit-ready financial reporting in a fast-moving, global technology environment.

You will lead the GAAP-compliant close processes, manage multi-entity accounting, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support growth and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• CPA or accounting/finance degree required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, incl. 2+ years in supervision.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes.
• ERP/Accounting systems proficiency and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• High accuracy, integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations: GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, payroll, and cash reconciliations.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to meet deadlines.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and management reports.
• Ensure GAAP compliance, tax requirements, and internal controls.
• Review results, investigate variances, and communicate insights to leadership.
• Coordinate external audits and provide schedules and documentation.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management and financial planning.
• Assist with tax filings, regulatory reporting, and special projects.
• Implement and maintain accounting policies and internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and support growth.
• Leverage technology to improve accounting efficiency and accuracy.

We’re looking for a Senior Accounting Manager / Director of Accounting to own day-to-day accounting operations and make sure our financial reporting is accurate, timely, and audit-ready — bringing public company rigor and Big 4 discipline to a fast-moving, global technology environment.

What You’ll Do

This role is the bridge between daily transactions and reliable financial reporting we can close, audit, and raise on. Sample projects include:

• managing daily accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and cash reconciliations

• leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring deadlines and reporting standards are met

• preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and management reports

• ensuring compliance with GAAP, applicable tax requirements, company policies, and internal controls

• reviewing financial results, investigating variances, and communicating meaningful insights to leadership

• coordinating external audits and providing accurate, timely schedules and supporting documentation

• supporting budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and other financial-planning activities

• assisting with tax filings, regulatory reporting, and special projects as required

• implementing and maintaining robust accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

• collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and support business growth

• leveraging technology solutions to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy

About You

Baseline skills:

• CPA and/or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role

• strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements

• demonstrated experience managing month-end and year-end close processes

• proficiency with accounting or ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

• excellent written and verbal communication skills

• high level of accuracy, integrity, discretion, and attention to detail
