Job summary

Attivo Partners, a San Francisco-based finance and accounting firm, is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead hands-on accounting for multiple clients, including month-end close, AR/AP, payroll, and tax compliance.

You will manage general ledger activities, help prepare financial statements and management reports, and contribute to budgets and forecasts while mentoring junior staff. Travel to events is minimal but occasional.

Role Overview

The Senior Accounting Manager position is a hands-on role, responsible for accounting functions for multiple clients that include full-cycle month-end close, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, and tax compliance. The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the general accounting for clients, assisting with the creation of financial statements and management reporting, managing the organization's cash, and assisting with the creation of departmental budgets and forecasts. Experience with developing and establishing policies and procedures within a corporation is highly preferred. The ideal candidate has worked at or with early-stage start-ups.

The position location is flexible/work from home, with preference given to candidates in the following cities where Attivo has an employee presence: San Francisco/Bay Area, Los Angeles/Southern California, New York City, Austin, and Boston. Candidates in other locations welcome to apply. Some travel to in-person company events is required, approximately 2-3 weeks out of the year. In-person onboarding training will take place within the first 3 months of employment (locations vary).

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly financial statements and budget vs actual analysis
• Assist with financial modeling and forecasting for clients
• Manage Accounts Receivable - which includes invoicing, collections, reviewing contracts
• Manage Accounts Payable - which includes ensuring accurate entry, timely payment, and compliance with company policies
• Process employee onboarding, payroll, and terminations
• Mentor and train future team members

Requirements

• Solid understanding of GAAP, CPA preferred
• Advanced+ Excel
• Experience with standard software solutions: QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Campfire, Brex, Ramp, Rippling, Gusto, Rillet, Carta
• AI and technology savvy, with the ability and willingness to regularly leverage emerging tools and continuously adapt to evolving technology.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. CPA preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Experience working in a fast-paced technology, or professional services environment

Salary Range

Attivo offers a competitive base plus bonus, and opportunities for advancement. The starting salary range for Senior Accounting Manager is approximately $140,000 to $155,000 per year plus bonus.

Benefits for full-time employees include: Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance (100% coverage for employees on base plan, 70% coverage for additional family members), participation in Flexible Spending Accounts and 401(k), 3 weeks PTO, voluntary Life Insurance & Disability plans, and work-from-home allowance.
