Job summary

GRVTY is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager in McLean, VA to oversee critical accounting operations, ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls under US GAAP.

The role leads a team of accountants, drives process improvements, and partners across Finance and the business to support strategic initiatives and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Clearable U.S. Citizenship is Required.
• 8 plus years of accounting experience; government contracting is a plus.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles.
• Understanding of internal controls, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
• Experience in a corporate controller's organization in a mid-to-large enterprise.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
• Oversee general ledger operations, account reconciliations, journal entry review, and financial statement preparation.
• Manage and coach accounting staff; foster a culture of accountability, development, and high performance.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and corporate accounting policies.
• Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and business units to support reporting and analysis.
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements.
• Assist with technical accounting matters, complex transactions, and policy development.
• Participate in and, in certain circumstances, lead special projects including system upgrades, integrations, and process modernization initiatives.
