Job description

Recruiting Resources is partnering with a unicorn startup seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to own the month-end close, multi-entity consolidation and accounting operations as the company integrates acquired businesses.

This is an opportunity to help build a scalable accounting function: establish consistent processes across subsidiaries, tackle technical accounting matters and lead the company through its first external audit. We’re looking for a hands‑on leader who combines strong technical judgment with the ability to develop a team and bring structure to a fast-moving environment.

What You’ll Own
  • Month-End Close & Consolidation: Lead the close across multiple entities, manage deadlines and deliver accurate consolidated financial statements, including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
  • Team Leadership & Review: Manage and mentor onshore and offshore accounting staff, reviewing journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Financial Analysis: Review subsidiary and consolidated P&L and balance sheet variances, investigate discrepancies and communicate key drivers to leadership.
  • Technical Accounting: Own the application of US GAAP across acquisition accounting, revenue recognition, leases under ASC 842, fixed assets and other complex transactions.
  • Acquisition Integration: Standardize charts of accounts, resolve historical GL issues and establish consistent accounting policies and reporting across acquired businesses.
  • Process Improvement & Controls: Build close checklists and reconciliation templates, document workflows and strengthen controls across AP, payroll, fixed assets and other core processes.
  • Accounting Operations: Oversee fixed asset and lease schedules, AR reviews, deposit liability accounting and cash and working capital monitoring.
  • Audit Readiness & Execution: Lead audit preparation and coordination with external auditors, ensuring appropriate cut-off, complete supporting documentation and clear audit trails.
  • Tax Coordination: Partner with external tax advisors to support timely filings and accurate underlying financial data.
What We’re Looking For
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of month‑end close and experience leading or reviewing a team’s work.
  • Manufacturing and/or private equity-backed company experience strongly preferred, particularly in a multi‑entity or acquisition‑driven environment.
  • A combination of Big Four or national firm audit experience and corporate accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong US GAAP knowledge, with experience in consolidation, acquisition accounting, leases and revenue recognition.
  • Experience leading external audits and strengthening accounting processes and controls.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field; CPA preferred.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented leader who is comfortable moving between technical accounting, team development and hands‑on execution.
