Job summary

Responsibilities

• Will be responsible for daily accounting activities and support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
• Prepare and review financial statements for multiple entities and locations
• Oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Prepare accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, depreciation, and payroll-related entries
• Manage bank and credit card reconciliations and monitor cash activity
• Analyze financial results and research variances
• Support sales tax and other state and local compliance requirements
• Coordinate with operations on sales, labor, inventory, COGS, and operating expense reporting
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting
• Support new locations and growth-related accounting activities
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals
• Maintain internal controls and identify process improvements

We’re seeking an Senior Accounting Manager for a direct hire growing multi-location organization in Las Vegas, Nevada. This position will have a broad accounting focus and is a good fit for someone who enjoys being hands-on with the close process, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and operational finance.

Responsibilities for the Senior Accounting Manager:

• Will be responsible for the daily accounting activities and support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
• Responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements for multiple entities and locations
• Responsible for overseeing the general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Prepare accruals, prepaids, fixed asset, depreciation, and payroll-related entries
• Manage bank and credit card reconciliations and monitor cash activity
• Analyze financial results and research budget and prior-period variances
• Support sales tax and other state and local compliance requirements
• Work closely with operations on sales, labor, inventory, cost of goods sold, and operating expense reporting
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting
• Support new locations and other growth-related accounting activities
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and other outside partners
• Maintain strong internal controls and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes

Requirements for the Senior Accounting Manager:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience along with 2+ years of supervisory or accounting management experience
• Strong general ledger, month-end close, account reconciliation, and financial reporting experience
• Experience working in a multi-location or multi-entity environment
• Restaurant, hospitality, food and beverage, or similar multi-unit industry experience required
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems and strong Excel skills
• Experience with inventory and cost of goods sold accounting is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with strong communication skills
