Position Summary

The Senior Accounting Manager supports the Controller in leading the Accounting Department, playing a key role in decision support, financial reporting, month-end close, SOX controls, audit support, and revenue recognition under ASC 606. This role also involves leadership in the accounting and finance functions, team culture development, and career growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Collaborate with auditors providing documentation and responses.
• Reconcile various balance sheet accounts.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and tax filings.
• Implement process improvements for financial reporting efficiency.
• Oversee a team of accounting and finance professionals.
• Perform financial analysis for decision-making and cost/revenue optimization.
• Maintain SOX controls and practices.
• Ensure proper revenue recognition per ASC 606 standards.
• Support other departments with financial data as needed.
• Participate in management meetings and leadership activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or statistics.
• 7+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years of management.
• Experience with public companies and Big Four or mid-size firms.
• Knowledge of consolidations, SOX, and US GAAP.
• Deep understanding of GAAP, ASC 606, and ASC 805.
• Experience managing audits and internal controls.
• Experience leading digital transformation in finance teams is preferred. CPA preferred.
• Experience in life sciences, healthcare, or laboratory services is a plus.
• Strong skills in Excel, NetSuite, and Blackline.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
