Job summary

Position Overview

The Senior Accounting Manager leads the Business Unit accounting team and serves as a key partner to the Business Unit Controller. This role oversees financial reporting, month-end close, account reconciliations, internal controls, compliance, technical accounting, and audit support, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information.

The position works closely with operational leadership, FP&A, and the Canton Office to provide accounting expertise, drive process improvements, support business decision-making, and develop accounting talent.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations

• Lead day-to-day accounting activities, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Review financial statements, supporting schedules, and accounting analyses to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Partner with operational teams to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.

Technical Accounting, Controls & Compliance

• Provides guidance on technical accounting matters and application of company accounting policies and GAAP.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, including SOX compliance and financial governance requirements.

• Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, reporting, and controls.

• Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team.
• Establish clear priorities, accountability, and performance expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting, financial reporting, or controllership experience.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, audits, and technical accounting.
• Proven analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting multiple lines of business and operating locations preferred.
