Job summary

Plante Moran, PLLC is seeking an experienced staff accountant to support financial accounting projects, including budgets, reconciliations and monthly analyses. You will participate in monthly close, prepare journal entries, and communicate with clients while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

The role requires 3+ years of full-charge staff accounting experience, familiarity with computerized accounting systems, and potential travel to support eastern/central time zones.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred but not required.
  • 3+ years of full-charge staff accountant experience including financial statement preparation and reconciliations.
  • 3+ years experience with computerized accounting systems; GL to financial statements.
  • Experience with PointClickCare or Sage Intacct preferred; Yardi/Peachtree/Creative Solutions a plus.
  • Fixed assets and depreciation; FX and/or FAS preferred.
  • Payroll experience including quarterly/annual payroll tax filings.
  • Approximately 5% overnight travel for duties.

Responsibilities

Your role.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial accounting projects including annual budgets, reconciliation of accounts, board reporting, and monthly financial analyses
  • Complete monthly financial statement close process including account reconciliations, reconciling sub-ledgers, posting of journal entries and communication with clients
  • Perform data collection and analysis for senior care and living projects utilizing benchmark data and other client financial information
  • Prepare Medicaid and Medicare cost reports for various provider types including skilled nursing facilities, home health and hospice organizations.
The qualifications.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting CPA preferred but not required
  • 3+ years of full charge staff accountant experience including financial statement preparation, account reconciliations and workpaper preparation experience
  • 3+ years minimum experience with computerized accounting systems, including:
    • General ledger through financial statement
    • Experience with PointClickCare or Sage Intacct preferred; Yardi, Peachtree and/or Creative Solutions a plus
    • Fixed assets and depreciation
    • Experience with FX and/or FAS preferred
    • Payroll, including preparation of quarterly and annual payroll tax filings
    • Travel throughout the eastern and central time zones on occasion with approximately 5% overnight travel

The compensation range reflects the base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this position across our offices in the following regions: CO, IL, OH, and MA. Please review the position description for the applicable geographic location. Generally, experienced hires are not hired at or near the maximum salary range, as compensation decisions take into account a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to: responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
