Job description

Count on us. Our "we-care" culture is more than just a motto; it's a promise. From day one, we prioritize your growth, well-being, and success. You can count on us to support your career journey and help you achieve your professional goals. Join us. Our management consulting team focuses on our clients' critical business needs. From strategy to operations and everything in between, our integrated solutions approach is designed to help enable and manage growth, improve the quality of care, leverage critical resources, and mitigate costs and risks.

Your role.

No busy work here. As a summer intern, you will contribute alongside our entry-level staff and project teams. You will support the development of practical healthcare operational and business solutions through research, analysis, process improvement, and client-ready deliverables. The internship will provide exposure to value-based care, ambulatory operations, physician alignment, and clinically integrated networks while building foundational consulting skills.

Your work may include:
  • Support value-based healthcare projects by gathering information, documenting current-state processes, and helping identify opportunities to improve efficiency, access, quality, and the patient and provider experience.
  • Assist with ambulatory operations projects involving physician practices, medical groups, and health system outpatient settings, including workflow assessment, capacity and access analysis, performance measurement, and process redesign.
  • Contribute to value-based care initiatives by researching care delivery and payment models, organizing performance information, and supporting analyses related to quality, cost, utilization, care coordination, and organizational readiness for alternative payment models.
  • Support clinically integrated network and network strategy work by researching market and provider trends, organizing network and practice information, and assisting with analyses related to clinical integration, physician alignment, network performance, and growth opportunities.
  • Use data from client and market sources to identify trends, variances, and operational insights, with guidance from project leaders and the healthcare analytics team.
  • Assist with workflow redesign using LEAN and Six Sigma tools, as well as helping to drive effective sustainable change management.
  • Participate in selected projects that connect clinical operations with value-based strategy and network development, helping teams with key decisions that drive their ultimate success in value based and fee for service arrangements.
  • Conduct research on healthcare market trends, leading practices, and emerging issues, and summarize findings in clear analyses, presentations, and other client deliverables.
  • Build professional consulting skills through meaningful interaction with team members and clients, including meeting preparation, note-taking, analysis, problem solving, and development of client-ready materials.
The qualifications.
  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in healthcare administration, public health, business administration, health sciences, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Academic success (a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0).
  • Interest in healthcare consulting and in one or more internship subject areas: value-based care, ambulatory operations, clinically integrated networks, physician alignment, healthcare analytics, process improvement, or health system strategy.
  • Foundational analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to organize information, work with quantitative and qualitative data, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail, professionalism, curiosity, and willingness to learn in a collaborative, client-service environment.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentations; experience with data visualization, electronic health records, Lean, or Six Sigma concepts is helpful but not required.
  • Staff members working onsite at healthcare client locations may be required to maintain immunizations in accordance with client compliance requirements and applicable workplace safety guidelines.
