Job summary

Plante Moran is seeking a relationship-focused financial professional to join its Healthcare Consulting Senior Living team in Cleveland or Columbus, OH. This role blends accounting expertise with strategic problem-solving to drive stronger financial results for healthcare and senior living providers.

You’ll partner with client leadership on reporting, budgeting, and performance analysis while navigating Medicaid/Medicare cost reporting and complex reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• 3+ years of full-charge staff accountant experience including financial statement prep, reconciliations, and workpapers.

Responsibilities

• Partner with client leadership on financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and board reporting.
• Manage month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and statements.
• Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable improvement recommendations.
• Investigate discrepancies by reconciling subsidiary systems with the general ledger.
• Prepare Medicaid and Medicare cost reports for provider types including skilled nursing, home health, and hospice.

The Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting


• CPA preferred but not required


• 3+ years of full charge staff accountant experience including financial statement preparation, account reconciliations and workpaper preparation experience

OR industry experience with Medicaid and Medicare cost reports for various provider types (not required, but preferred).

• Experience with PointClickCare or Sage Intacct preferred; Yardi, Peachtree and/or Creative Solutions a plus. Must have strong Excel skills.


• Fixed assets and depreciation


• Experience with FX and/or FAS preferred


• Payroll, including preparation of quarterly and annual payroll tax filings


• Travel throughout the eastern and central time zones on occasion with approximately 5% overnight travel

The compensation range reflects the base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this position across our offices in the following regions: CO, IL, OH, and MA. Please review the position description for the applicable geographic location.
