Job summary

Fortrea in Durham, NC, seeks an Accounting Senior Associate to support monthly, quarterly, and annual close with a high level of analytical rigor. You will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, and analyze results across global finance teams in a hybrid role.

The ideal candidate has strong Excel skills, experience with consolidated reporting under US GAAP, and the ability to drive process improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA preferred; master's degree is a plus.
5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience in close, reporting, or consolidations.

Responsibilities

Support the consolidated close process monthly, quarterly, and annually.
Prepare and post journal entries, including complex and adjusting entries.
Perform general ledger reconciliations and balance sheet analyses.
Analyze results, provide commentary on variances, and support external reporting.
Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, SEC Reporting, and business units.
Assist with SEC reporting and SOX compliance requests.
Identify process improvements to automate close activities.
Support day-to-day global finance activities and audits.
