Job summary

Xcel Energy in Minnesota is seeking a Sr Accounting Analyst to support accurate close cycles and financial statements. You will lead or assist with ledger entries, inter-company billings, and regulatory reporting, ensuring GAAP compliance and timely analysis.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in accounting/finance, 4+ years of accounting experience, and SAP knowledge. A CPA/CMA is preferred. Xcel Energy offers a hybrid work model and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred and may be required for some positions.
• Minimum four years general financial accounting and reporting experience.
• Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and analytical/communication skills.
• Knowledge of SAP highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Participate in month-end, quarter-end and year-end close cycles and reporting.
• Prepare complex accounting ledger entries and inter-company billings.
• Analyze financial data and provide regulatory reporting forms and tax filings.
• Support projects, system upgrades, rate case support, and ad hoc reports.
