Job summary

Schmalz Custom Landscaping, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accounting Analyst in Appleton, WI to support accounting, financial reporting, job costing, payroll, benefits, corporate card review, inventory, and operational finance.

This hands-on role covers AP, GL reconciliations, cost analysis, payroll support, and inventory management, with collaboration across CFO and operations teams. The candidate should be able to investigate discrepancies and drive process improvements across

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
Three or more years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience.
Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries.
Experience with cost analysis, job costing, inventory, or operational finance preferred.
Proficiency in Excel; QuickBooks Desktop experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

Process, code, review, and route vendor invoices.
Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation.
Review invoices for proper vendor, account, division, job, department, and tax classification.
Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.
Prepare payment runs and maintain vendor records.
Provide backup for accounts receivable and other accounting functions.
Help improve accounts payable procedures and internal controls.
Prepare and post journal entries and reconcile accounts.
Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
